Invisalign® Treatment in Albuquerque, NM

What are the benefits of Invisalign?

Invisalign treatment offers several benefits. Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible, so most people will not even notice them. They are also removable, so patients can take them out to eat and to brush and floss their teeth. Invisalign aligners are also more comfortable and easier to wear than traditional braces.

Am I a good candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign is a great option for teenagers and adults who want to straighten their teeth but also avoid wearing metal brackets and wires. Patients of all ages and backgrounds choose Invisalign for its convenience, comfort, and discreet appearance.

How do I get started with Invisalign?

Invisalign treatment begins with an initial consultation. During your consultation, you’ll receive an oral exam to determine if you’re a good candidate for the treatment. If so, we’ll take X-rays, photos, and impressions of your teeth to create a digital 3-D image. From this image, we’ll map out your tooth movements, and your treatment plan will be designed using computer software.

During your second visit, you’ll receive your customized, clear aligners. Wear each set for about 20 to 22 hours every day, removing them only to eat, brush and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next one in the series, your teeth will slowly move into alignment.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

Invisalign treatment takes an average of 12 to about 18 months. Many patients achieve their desired results in as little as 12 months, but treatment times will vary between patients. More complex cases will require more time, while simpler cases will be completed sooner.

Does Invisalign work?

There’s no question in our mind that Invisalign works. In fact, we’d argue that it works better than traditional metal braces. Invisalign works by using a series of clear aligners that are custom-made for your mouth. The aligners look similar to mouth guards but are made of BPA-free plastic. They sit comfortably over your teeth, moving them gradually into better alignment.

How do I clean my teeth with Invisalign on?

During Invisalign treatment, you can remove your clear aligners to brush your teeth. You can brush and floss your teeth just as you normally would, and be sure to brush for at least two minutes.

When you take off your aligners, remember to clean them as well before putting them back on. Food debris can build up on your aligners just like it does on your teeth. You should also keep them clean so that they don’t stain. To clean your aligners, soak them in denture cleaner or warm water and brush them with a soft toothbrush.
