Why Do People Snore?

Snoring might be a symptom of sleep apnea, which is a disorder that causes a person to stop breathing while asleep. When this occurs, the brain and other organs don’t receive enough oxygen. This can result in a number of health problems and can increase your risk for a stroke or heart attack.
Snoring can also be caused by allergies, a cold, a sinus infection, or nasal congestion. Certain medications and alcohol use can also cause snoring.
