Treatment for toothaches depends on the underlying cause. If it’s just an aching tooth, you can also try rinsing with salt water, taking a pain reliever, and seeing your dentist. If your toothache is caused by a cavity or abscess, you’ll need a filling or root canal. If your toothache is caused by gum disease, you’ll need professional deep cleaning and antibiotics.
If your toothache is caused by trauma, try rinsing your mouth out with warm water and see your dentist as soon as possible.
