There are several stages of gum disease:

• Gingivitis - This is the first stage of gum disease. It is characterized by gum inflammation.

• Early Periodontitis - In this stage, the gums have started to recede.

• Moderate Periodontitis - In this stage, the gum disease has become more severe. The gum recession is more significant, and the bone supporting the teeth has begun to erode.

• Advanced Periodontitis - This is the severe stage of gum disease. The gum recession is severe, and the bone supporting the teeth has eroded. Teeth may eventually become loose or be lost.
