Practicing good oral hygiene is important for preventing periodontal disease. Brush your teeth twice each day for two minutes at a time. Flossing is also important, as it removes plaque from hard-to-reach areas between teeth.
A balanced diet is also good for your oral health. Limit your intake of sugary foods and drinks, such as candy, soda, and juice.
Smoking is another bad habit to avoid, as it can cause gum disease. If you currently smoke, ask your dentist for advice on quitting.
