Flossing is a way to remove food particles and plaque from between the teeth. This is important because plaque contains bacteria which, if left on the teeth, can cause problems like gum disease and tooth decay.

Flossing can be time-consuming, but it only takes a few minutes every day. It only takes a couple of minutes to do, and flossing helps to prevent sugary foods from getting stuck between the teeth and causing cavities.
