Oral appliances are worn in the mouth during sleep. They can help treat mild cases of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), as well as snoring in some cases.
Oral appliances work by gently opening up the airways. This prevents the soft tissues of the airway from collapsing and obstructing the airway. Oral appliances must be prescribed by the dentist, just like CPAP devices.
